Who We Are
David Stirling, our company founder, created Beyond to build a community of like-minded adventure enthusiasts. He wanted to create a culture for people to come together to adventure and push beyond. He saw the need to expand adventure tourism and bring a specialty outdoor store to the Wood Buffalo Region. David has lived and played in Fort McMurray since 2012 and is proud to call this place home. He lives here with his fiancé, son and Sabre.
As a Full-Time Firefighter, David continues to train and hone his rescue and medical skills. He is a practising Primary Care Paramedic and, in the winter, volunteers his medical expertise to the Canadian Ski Patrol. David grew up exploring and playing in Northern Saskatchewan, which fostered his passion for the outdoors that has only grown over the years. He has pursued outdoor leadership training, as well as obtaining certifications in Wilderness Medicine, Paddle Canada Instructor certifications, Swift Water Rescue.
David is constantly training and pursuing more education to bring you the best instruction and experience to help provide you with the confidence and expertise to get out and live, play, and explore in our beautiful region. Whether you have a lot or a little experience, our goal is to get you outdoors and to have fun safely.
